KindnessOver the last weekend in March 2008, producer John McKenzie came to record a new version of a song originally recorded by New York bluesman Guy Davis. Featuring Noel McCalla on lead vocals, a gospel chorus led by Roy Hamilton with Kevin Leo, Cuttie Williams, Corina Armel and Vanessa Haynes, the new recording was commissioned for a Deutsche Bank promotional video.
With Mike Collins engineering and mixing the sessions, things went very smoothly and the recording was completed in just two long working days. John McKenzie played acoustic guitar, bass guitar, bass drum, tambourine and harmonica. Mike Collins played acoustic guitar and banjo and Katherine Toy played piano-accordion.
