My favourite Carole King song, this arrangement features Abigail Deacon on vocals accompanied by myself on lead guitar, John McKenzie on bass guitar, Blair Cunningham on drums, Damon Butcher and Keith O’Connell on keyboards.
My piano technician
introduced me to another of his clients - Abigail Deacon. Abigail explained that she used to write songs with her brother but he wanted
to keep this as a hobby while she wanted to pursue singing and songwriting professionally. As a vocal test, I recorded Abigail singing a
song that she already knew quite well.
We were about to start writing songs together when she suddenly announced that she had decided to spend the next 9 months in Cambodia to see the country, teaching a little English along the way, followed by a year in Australia to take lessons in creative writing, photography and acting, and maybe some more piano lessons. This sort of got in the way of further collaborations - at least for the moment.
