John McKenzie

Bass Guitar, guitar, keyboards, production.

From Bob Dylan to The Pretenders, from the Global Village Trucking Company to the Eurythmics, from Alison Moyet to Steve Hillage, from Jim Diamond to Bond, from Matt Bianco to Morrissey-Mullen, John McKenzie is one of the UK's leading session and touring musicians.

I first met John when I saw him playing with Morrisey-Mullen in 1981 and promptly hired him to play bass on some of the first records I produced. Since that time our paths have crossed on many occasions and we have become firm friends and musical colleagues. John plays on a number of my recent recordings, and I played guitar and banjo and engineered for him on one of his recent productions for a Deutsche Bank video.

John also plays guitar - I will never forget seeing him play a 'blinding' solo on my nylon-strung guitar which he had borrowed for an Annabel Lamb recording at Master Rock Studios in Kilburn many moons ago - and he is also a talented producer.

If you would like John McKenzie to work on your next project, please call to check availability.
