Roger Beaujolais

Vibraphone and Glockenspiel

Roger Beaujolais is one of the leading vibraphone players in the UK for sessions and tours.

Roger’s track record speaks for itself – he co-formed the Chevalier Brothers in the 1980’, recorded three albums with the group and toured all over the world between 1984 and 1988. Subsequently he recorded with Fairground Attraction and toured all over the world with this group from 1988 – 1989. When they split up he formed his own band the Beaujolais Band who got signed to Acid Jazz Records in 1990. While he was at Acid Jazz he also formed jazz/funk group Vibraphonic. Acid Jazz released two Beaujolais Band albums and two Vibraphonic albums. In 1996 Vibraphonic had a No. 1 on the US Adult Contemporary charts and as a result Roger was signed to Disney’s Hollywood Records in LA for another two albums. In 1999 Roger formed the Roger Beaujolais Quintet which has since released four albums to critical acclaim. The band is currently a regular feature on the UK live jazz scene.

Roger is also a prolific session musician who has been featured on albums by Robert Plant, Paul Weller, Fairground Attraction, Kirsty MacColl, Morrissey, Shola Ama, D Influence, Alison Limerick, Joe Arthur, Omara Portuondo, Earthling, Bruce Foxton, Dave Knopfler, Ed Motta, Guy Chambers, Tony Allen, 4 Hero, Bah Samba, Ultramarine, Corduroy and many more.
