Rowland Sutherland plays all the flutes in all the styles you might want - from jazz to classical, popular music to all varieties of World music.
Rowland has played and recorded with artistes as diverse as Zoe Rahman, B J Cole, Byron Wallen, Dennis Rollins, Steve Lawson, Denys Baptiste, Nikki Yeoh, Guy Barker and David-Jean Baptiste.
In the classical field Rowland has performed with a number of new music ensembles and dance companies including The New Music Players, Ixion, Icebreaker, Lontano, Uroboros, Music Projects/London, Phoenix Dance and Rambert Dance Company. Rowland has performed with many orchestras such as the Philharmonia and Bournemouth Symphony orchestras, the B.B.C. National Orchestra Of Wales, the European Community Chamber Orchestra, the Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet Orchestra and the B.B.C. Radio Orchestra.
Rowland is also a prolific session musician who has played flutes on recordings for George Benson, Incognito, Mezzoforte, MC Solaar, Keziah Jones, William Orbit, Melanie C, Roland Gift, Omar, Marc Almond and many more.
