From Kylie Minogue to Robbie Williams, from Cher to Lionel Ritchie, from Rod Stewart to Hamish Stewart, from Boy George to Phil Collins, from S Club 7 to Massive Attack, from Tom Robinson to Lisa Stansfield, from Denis Bovell to Bumble & The Beez, Winston Blissett is in high demand as a bass player for sessions and tours.
I met Winston in 2005 at the Pizza Express in Dean Street, Soho, where he was performing as a member of the Snake Davis Band. Not long afterwards our paths crossed again when Blair Cunningham invited him to my project studio to record with Jim Mullen. This went so well that we decided to write a set of material collaboratively with Jim and Blair.
Since then, Winston has also contributed basslines to various of the in-house projects being recorded here in my studio, adding new dimensions to various blues, jazz and R & B tracks.
Winston is also a member of jazz-funk group "Protect The Beat" featuring sax player Derek Nash and guitarist Tim Cansfield, and spent the summer of 2008 touring with Massive Attack.
