Consultancy

I have been offering consultancy services to composers and producers working to picture or on commercial recording projects since 1989.

Specializing in Apple computers and also offering support for Windows machines, I can advise and help with all your specialized computing needs for music and audio and can also advise on a wide range of popular analogue and digital audio equipment.

Digital audio workstations, Digital mixing consoles, Outboard equipment, Drum Machines, Samplers & Synthesizers, personal computers and software packages - there is a dazzling array of these on offer these days. I offer a truly independent source of advice and help with all of these.

You can come to my studio for advice during weekdays, evenings or weekends. I also do callouts to recording studios, film or TV sessions.

Typical Questions

People ask: 'Where can we go for truly independent buying advice about the latest equipment? We ask the dealer and he wants to sell us the gear he has in stock or which gives him the highest profit rather than what we really need. And the manufacturers only extol the virtues of their particular products. Also, magazine reviews can be of limited help as we often need to explore in some depth before reaching a decision.'

Others ask: 'Once we have invested in new equipment, where can we get some help learning how to use our new kit - ideally from someone themselves already familiar with the kind of studio work we do - when we are so busy on the job that we don't have time to wade through the manuals?'
